For two days, I had the pleasure of accompanying and guiding the cheerful<\/strong> travel<\/strong> group<\/strong> from V\u00f6hringer<\/strong> Reisen<\/strong>. Right from the hotel, I was joyfully greeted by the entire group, and so nothing stood in the way of a great Bergdoktor<\/strong> excursion<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

We first drove to Going am Wilden Kaiser<\/strong>, where the first filming location<\/strong> already awaited us. The beautiful village square ensemble<\/strong> with the inn “Zum Wilden Kaiser”<\/strong>, the Sonnenapotheke<\/strong>, the police station<\/strong> (which in real life represents the municipality), the shell-shaped village stage<\/strong>, and the baroque<\/strong> Church<\/strong> of the Holy Cross<\/strong> are worth a visit. <\/p>\n

The Going<\/strong> Parish Church<\/strong> was built in 1774\/75<\/strong> by master builder Andre<\/strong> Huber<\/strong> from Kitzb\u00fchel<\/strong>. The Madonna figure<\/strong> in the left side altar dates from the predecessor church<\/strong> around 1358<\/strong>, and the baroque high altar painting<\/strong> from 1690 by Ignaz Faistenberger<\/strong>. The building<\/strong> and the altars<\/strong> are Late Baroque<\/strong>, while the stucco work<\/strong> was already created in the Rococo<\/strong> period. By the way, the church is located on the Tyrolean section of the Way of St. James. <\/p>\n

Our next stop led us directly to Ellmau<\/strong>, where we walked up for 10 minutes to the Bergdoktor’s house. Upon request, I can gladly organize a taxi for guests with limited mobility<\/strong> so that all guests can visit the house on site. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Next Bergdoktor Filming Location Stop: The Wochenbrunneralm<\/strong><\/p>\n

For lunch<\/strong>, I organized a pleasant stop at the famous Wochenbrunneralm<\/strong>. The Wochenbrunner<\/strong> Alm<\/strong> in Ellmau<\/strong>, Austria, is also a popular filming location<\/strong> for the TV series “Der<\/strong> Bergdoktor”<\/strong>. In the series, it is used as an Alm<\/strong> where the Bergdoktor<\/strong> and his family<\/strong>, as well as other characters<\/strong>, spend<\/strong> time<\/strong>, for example, for excursions<\/strong> or refreshments<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

After lunch<\/strong>, we went on a short hike to the charming Anna<\/strong> Grotto<\/strong>. A 20-minute<\/strong> ascent<\/strong> allowed us to enjoy the forest<\/strong> and the fresh<\/strong> air<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Once there, it wasn’t long before Peda<\/strong>, our tractor driver<\/strong>, drove us up the mountain to the Bergdoktor’s house<\/strong>. Peda<\/strong>, with his insider<\/strong> knowledge<\/strong>, who has been closely involved in the filming<\/strong> for many years, leaves no question unanswered for Bergdoktor<\/strong> fans<\/strong>. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Day 2:<\/strong> The next day, we embarked on the grand<\/strong> tour<\/strong> around the entire Kitzb\u00fchel<\/strong> Alps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Great<\/strong> Rettenstein<\/strong>, a prominent peak<\/strong> with an elevation<\/strong> of 2,366<\/strong> m, is the geographical<\/strong> center<\/strong> of the Kitzb\u00fchel<\/strong> Alps<\/strong> and is an important part of the nature recreation area<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

From there, we went via the Brixental<\/strong> to the Inntal<\/strong>, and further into the Zillertal<\/strong>, where, in Zell am Ziller<\/strong>, we drove past the pilgrimage church<\/strong> Maria<\/strong> Rast<\/strong> and one of the oldest<\/strong>, former<\/strong> school buildings<\/strong>, then over the Gerlos<\/strong> Pass<\/strong> into Pinzgau<\/strong>\/Salzburg<\/strong>. A photo stop at the Durlassboden Reservoir was, of course, a must. We built a small<\/strong> snowman<\/strong> and enjoyed the beautiful view of the 3,000-meter<\/strong> peaks<\/strong> of the Zillertal<\/strong> Alps<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

In Jochberg<\/strong>, we made another photo stop<\/strong> at the Jochbergwald Pilgrimage Chapel. <\/p>\n

In the 19th century, the road over Pass Thurn had to be re-terraced for military-technical reasons, which completely marginalized the chapel at that time. In 1842, a new small church was built next to the old road with a simple, three-week construction, and the miraculous image<\/strong> was ceremoniously transferred. <\/p>\n
