We all met at the Gmund<\/strong> train station<\/strong> on the Tegernsee<\/strong>. Some arrived by car, others by train. Our suitcases were quickly stowed in the luggage transport car and we were ready to go. On the Tegernsee<\/g> H\u00f6henweg<\/g> we went along the eastern shore to the Tegernsee Br\u00e4ust\u00fcberl<\/g> where we celebrated our very first stop<\/g>. From pork knuckles to Kaiserschmarrn, apple slices and home-brewed beer or coffee, the stop left nothing to be desired. <\/p>\n

From there we crossed with the ship<\/strong> to Rottach-Egern<\/strong> and then hiked along the Wei\u00dfach<\/strong> to Kreuth<\/strong> to our second stop at the restaurant<\/strong>\/caf\u00e9<\/strong> G\u00f6ttfried<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Here we were picked up at 4:00 PM and went to the Hotel<\/strong> J\u00e4ger von Fall<\/strong>. Great hotel directly on the Silvensteinspeichersee<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The next day promised a lot of precipitation again, so we decided to tackle the Lerchkogel<\/strong>. From the hotel, we first took the car along the long Ziehweg<\/strong> to the entrance to the hiking trail<\/strong> up towards Lerchkogel<\/strong>. There it became really exciting and adventurous, as the rain suddenly took its course in full swing and Petra<\/strong> stepped into a swamp hole<\/strong> in front of me. The poor Petra was standing in the moor up to her knees, but luckily<\/strong> nothing<\/strong> happened<\/strong>. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Dietrich also slipped a little, but everything went smoothly here too.<\/p>\n

For weather-related<\/strong> reasons<\/strong>, we decided not to climb to the summit<\/strong>, but used the beautiful forest road to start the way home<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We were able to admire beautiful alpine flowers<\/strong>, butterflies<\/strong> and alpine salamanders<\/strong> (Salamandra atra<\/em>) along the way before we reached the hotel together again.<\/p>\n

We made a short stop for coffee and cake before taking the bus to Hinteriss<\/strong> to our next Hotel<\/strong> Post<\/strong>. There, the guests were greeted by a spa area beyond compare. A beautiful, large swimming pool<\/strong> and sauna area<\/strong> with a view of the wildly romantic landscape made the hearts<\/strong> of my guests<\/strong> beat faster. While some went to the sauna<\/strong> and swim<\/strong>, others hit<\/strong> the hay<\/strong>. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The next day was reserved for the Achensee<\/strong>. We took the shuttle to Achenkirch,<\/strong> where we hiked along the west side of the Achensee. In the middle of it all, the well-known Gaisalm<\/strong> awaited us, where we held our lunch stop<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The three musketeers<\/strong> (Dietrich<\/strong>, Wolfi<\/strong> and Brian<\/strong>) did not miss the opportunity to elegantly drop their underwear<\/strong> and unpack their swim trunks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At a perceived 7 degrees, they elegantly plunged into the floods of the Tyrolean Fjord and enjoyed the cool freshness. All for the benefit of the immune system. Right<\/strong> Wolfi<\/strong>! \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n

Afterwards we continued to Pertisau<\/strong> to the dock<\/strong> where Dietrich<\/strong> already greeted us beaming<\/strong>. He preferred to continue elegantly by ship. Bravooo dear Dietrich. You bravely made it to the Goasalm<\/strong>! <\/p>\n

In Pertisau<\/strong> we continued with our shuttles over the Inn Valley into the beautiful Zillertal<\/strong>. The Zillertal, known for its Zillertal<\/strong> beer<\/strong> and its Gaudafest<\/strong>, finally showed itself with a little sunshine<\/strong>, at least the next day, when we took the Spieljochbahn up to start our hike to Hochf\u00fcgen<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Before that, however, we enjoyed another night in the beautiful Hotel Schiestl<\/strong> in F\u00fcgen<\/strong>, where all guests<\/strong> were more than thrilled, especially with the delicious<\/strong> food<\/strong> at the evening<\/strong> buffet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The view the next day high above the Zillertal towards Gratlspitz, Hamberg and the main ridge<\/strong> left nothing to be desired. In good spirits, we went up to the Spieljoch<\/strong> summit<\/strong>, on to the Onkeljoch<\/strong>, back down and around to the Gartlalm<\/strong> where we took a break. Afterwards we went to the Gasthof<\/strong> Loas<\/strong>, which is known far and wide for its huge and very good Schnitzel<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

My guests naturally did not miss this culinary delight and happily and contentedly enjoyed their well-deserved \u201cLoas<\/strong>\u201d Schnitzel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Afterwards we went down towards Hochf\u00fcgen<\/strong> to our next Hotel<\/strong> Lamark<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Our luggage<\/strong> was transported on to Mayrhofen<\/strong> in the Zillertal<\/strong> and for us it went directly from the Hotel Lamark in Hochf\u00fcgen, further towards the end of the valley and high up to the Rastkogelh\u00fctte<\/strong>. We passed a beautiful waterfall<\/strong> with a wooden bridge<\/strong> and enjoyed the beautiful views back towards Hochf\u00fcgen<\/strong>. At the top of the ridge, an incredibly impressive<\/strong> landscape<\/strong> with small moorland pools<\/strong> and cotton grass stocks<\/strong> awaited us. With the Rastkogelh\u00fctte<\/strong> already in sight, we enjoyed the last meters to our today’s stop<\/strong>. Blissfully, we then hiked to the Melchboden<\/strong> and enjoyed the soft, beautiful hiking trail<\/strong> to the local bus stop<\/strong>. Happy and content, we took the bus to the Ramsau<\/strong> train station,<\/strong> where the last meters were still covered by the Zillertal<\/strong> Bahn<\/strong> to Mayrhofen<\/strong>. Some guests preferred to walk the last kilometers along the Ziller to the Hotel<\/strong> Br\u00fccke<\/strong> in Mayrhofen<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Wolfi<\/strong> was a little battered<\/strong> and was already sitting lost in thought on the wrong platform<\/strong> waiting for a Moni<\/strong>–appearance<\/strong>. Thank God Charlotti<\/strong> spotted the poor<\/strong> Wolfi<\/strong> just in time before the train<\/strong> entered<\/strong> and we were able to get him back on the right<\/strong> track<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The next day we took the shuttle up to the Schlegeis<\/strong> reservoir<\/strong>. There, of course, we had to make a stop to inspect the mighty dam<\/strong>. The Schlegeis Reservoir is embedded in the majestic<\/g> Zillertal<\/g> Alps<\/g> in Tyrol. It is one of the most visited Zillertal sights, but was built as a functional building<\/strong>. The Schlegeis Reservoir is used to generate<\/strong> energy<\/strong> and protects the towns in the valley from flooding<\/strong>. This imposing structure, built between 1965<\/strong> and 1971<\/strong>, impresses not only with its technical<\/strong> complexity<\/strong>, but also with its positive influence on the environment and the surrounding landscape. <\/p>\n

The Schlegeis<\/strong> reservoir<\/strong> sits at an altitude of 1782<\/strong> meters<\/strong> above sea level and covers an area of approximately 2 square kilometers in the rear Zillertal. The dam, a remarkable example of engineering, stretches over a length of 725 meters and reaches a considerable height of 131 meters. This arch-gravity dam impresses not only with its imposing presence, but also with its elegant design and perfect integration into the surrounding mountain landscape. <\/p>\n

The Schlegeis Reservoir fulfills an important dual function: sustainable energy generation<\/strong> and flood protection<\/strong>. The clear, cold water, fed by precipitation, meltwater from glaciers and mountain lakes, is channeled through the Ro\u00dfhag power plant to generate clean and environmentally friendly electricity. This process makes it possible to balance peak loads in the power grid and use renewable energy. <\/p>\n

From there we started on foot<\/strong> to the actual Alpine crossing<\/strong>. We hiked through the beautiful valley to the end of the valley where it went up towards the South Tyrolean<\/strong> border<\/strong>. Before that, we paused at the Lavitzalm<\/strong> where a small museum<\/strong> can also be visited. In this museum, the former smuggling routes<\/strong> are explained and brought closer to you. <\/p>\n

Now followed the ascent<\/strong> to the actual crossing<\/strong>. However, more and more dark clouds were gathering and we had to hurry to avoid getting into a storm. It was already thundering, but the Pfitscherjochhaus<\/strong> was getting closer and closer and the weather finally seemed to calm down again. <\/p>\n

Devoutly<\/strong> we crossed the border to the southern side of the Alps<\/strong> in the fog<\/strong>. From there it was only 10 minutes to the Pfitscherjochhaus<\/strong> and to our stop today. <\/p>\n

After the break we had to descend about 800 meters before we took the bus<\/strong> at the Angerer<\/strong> H\u00f6fen<\/strong>, towards Kematen<\/strong> to our hotel today Hotel<\/strong> Kranebitt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There, too, a hot<\/strong> sauna<\/strong> awaited us again and Wolfi<\/strong> was already on site<\/strong>, who had traveled by train and bus because of his cold<\/strong>. All’s well that ends well\u2026<\/u><\/p>\n

On the last day of hiking, Petrus showed us again what misdeeds he was capable of. But we are now hardened<\/strong> and a little rain<\/strong> could not stop most of the team from hiking the 19 km to Sterzing<\/strong> on foot. Only three guests did not want to get to Sterzing<\/strong> on the muddy paths and got into the bus<\/strong> elegantly<\/strong> and with their heads held high. <\/p>\n

The rest hiked with me to the Hotel<\/strong> Sterzinger<\/strong> Moos<\/strong> where our exciting Alpine crossing<\/strong> found its crowning<\/strong> conclusion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
