Important Information About Bookings & Fees
My services guarantee you the highest quality and safety: All prices include exclusive guidance by a licensed Austria Guide or a state-certified mountain hiking guide.
Good to know: The fee is strictly for the guide service. All external costs—such as guest transportation, meals, admission fees, or gondola rides—are not included in the price and must be paid directly on site.
Travel fee: If your tour starts or ends at a location where no local guide is based, a travel fee will be charged. This fee is at least €30 per day and is based on the distance and travel time. I would be happy to provide you with a customized quote for this.
Freelancers: Fair prices for valuable work
Tour guides, guest guides, travel guides, and mountain guides work on a freelance basis. This means that approximately 50% of their fees go toward taxes (social security, income tax, business tax, etc.). Including preparation and follow-up work, the hourly wage should be similar to that of an advertising agency, at around €70 to €100.
The tour guide is in Austria a a8> regulated profession. The comprehensive training lasts 1-3 years and costs approx. €5,000. It covers history, art history, customs, geography, group dynamics, experience staging, dramaturgy, storytelling, conflict management, nonverbal communication, entrepreneurial skills, and much more.
