Snowshoe hike
Markbachjoch
Markbachjoch – Lanerköpfl – Halsgatterl – Kapelle – Holzalm/Kasalm
Tour description:
We begin our snowshoe hike right after getting off the Markbachjochbahn cable car. Even at the small cross next to the mountain station, there is a breathtaking view to the north—a perfect moment to enjoy the clear mountain air and take your first photo.
From here, we start at the edge of the slope towards Lanerköpfl. The trail then leads us through the forest into open alpine pastureland towards the chapel and Halsgatterl. Along the way, we enjoy a magnificent view of the Rosskopf before taking a leisurely break on the wooden bench at Hasgatterl.
Then it’s downhill towards Holzalm, where we enter the open alpine pastureland. On the south side of the Markbachjoch, we hike through another section of forest back towards the mountain station before reaching our starting point.
At the end of the circular hike, you can stop off at the Markbachjochalm for refreshments if you wish, to round off your winter hike in style.
