The Zillertal branches off at Jenbach from the Inntal valley and runs west of the a11> the Tuxer Alps and east of the Kitzbühel Alps.

My performance:

You will gain valuable historical, cultural and geographical background knowledge about life in the Zillertal valley. The customs of the Zillertal are also explained in a humorous way during the trip. What is meant by “Melchermuas” and why are there green and red church spires? Is it called die or der Ziller and what does this have to do with the diocesan border between Tyrol and Salzburg? And why were there in the 19th century the Zillertalers Inclinants/ Protestants vehemently expelled from the valley expelled? You can learn about this and much more at a18> one of my interesting day tours in the heart of Tyrol.

During a day-long guided tour you can visit the following attractions and see. We are happy to provide each according to the route guidance and excursion program of the stop for refreshments for your group in the appropriate restaurant reserved!

The following attractions can be experienced and discovered with me:

Zillertalbahn: The famous Zillertalbahn, a historic narrow-gauge railway, is particularly popular with tour groups. It offers a picturesque journey through the valley and is a popular attraction for all ages. From Jenbach station, I accompany your group to Mayrhofen in the Zillertal on an exciting and varied journey.

Mayrhofen: Once there, I will take you on an interesting city tour through Mayrhofen, which is also unofficially known as the “capital” of the Zillertal. If you are interested and require it, you are also welcome to book the slow train from Mayrhofen. This is a welcome convenience, especially for senior citizen groups!

The Tux Valley: Together we explore the beautiful valley, which branches off westward from Mayrhofen and stretches for about 13 kilometers to the Hintertux Glacier. It is located in the Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Park. The altitude difference ranges from about 850 meters near Mayrhofen to 1,500 meters in Hintertux. The Tux Glacier is a year-round ski area and one of the highlights of the valley. Once we reach the end of the valley, we set off on a short walk to explore an impressive waterfall! Afterwards, we let the beauty of the valley and the fresh air sink in and enjoy the high alpine surroundings with a good coffee and cake.

✓ Reservoir: A particular highlight is the Schlegeis Reservoir, a natural gem and technical masterpiece that offers group travelers in particular a fantastic opportunity to experience the high alpine landscape up close. Please note: Coaches can reach the Schlegeis Reservoir via the toll road Schlegeis Alpenstraße, whereby a height restriction of 3.60 m and a length restriction of 13.00 m apply to buses. The road is open seasonally (approx. mid-May to the end of October) and weather permitting, requires online or cash payment at the Breitlahner toll booth, and allows parking in the designated bus parking lot.

✓ Krimml Waterfalls: From Zell am Ziller, the route takes you over the Gerlos Pass and past the Durlaßboden reservoir towards Krimml near Salzburg. Austria’s largest waterfalls are an impressive natural spectacle that can be explored via a well-maintained trail with several stops along the way. Let yourself be enchanted by the magical Krimml Waterfalls.

Adventure Dairy Zillertal: A show dairy in Mayrhofen, where you can experience traditional cheese making and taste local products.

FeuerWerk – Holzerlebniswerk: An impressive building, which is specialized in processing wood and offers a new perspective on the subject of wood .

✓ Beer experience in the Zillertal: Beer has been brewed in Zell am Ziller for more than 500 years. A tour of the Zillertal Bier “BrauKunstHaus” is definitely worth a visit. Of course, beer and a tasty pretzel are a must after the varied museum tour. 🙂

*Total tour duration with beer tasting and pretzels: approx. 3 hours

Zillertaler Höhenstrasse: A drive on the Zillertaler Höhenstrasse is an unforgettable experience and offers everything your heart desires! The Zillertal Höhenstrasse is one of the most beautiful Alpine roads in Austria and offers every visitor a magnificent drive up to an an altitude of 2,020 m.

*Attention, with the coach up to 10.5 m in length !!!

Spieljochbahn in Fügen: Come with me up to the top! The Spieljochbahn takes you comfortably up to the mountain station at 1,860 m. From here, the wide, senior-friendly gravel path winds its way leisurely for about 15 minutes to the summit cross, which is also easy to explore for people with limited mobility. Fantastic views are guaranteed, and I will explain my native Tyrolean mountains to you, including a group photo with the summit cross, if desired!
